About

The concept of this website was inspired by World War II history. ‘Die Weiße Rose’ (The White Rose) was the name for a very small underground group of students in Munich during the later years of the reign of the Third Reich. The group objected to the tenants of the Nazi party and took it upon themselves to educate people about the atrocities of the Third Reich. Their efforts showed amazing conviction and demonstrated the conscience and compassion that existed within the German people even in the darkest of times. This group gave their lives for this conviction.

Their work included 6 leaflets they distributed in Munich. The text, both in English and German, is here

For more information on the group and here are some much better resources (some of which provided my information above)

Unfortunately, in recent years, many of the same examples of ‘fear of the other’ began to come into the main stream. This has been most accute in the run up to and results of the 2016 election. While drawing comparisons between historical events and current events runs the risk of over simplification and mis-understanding of both sets of events, it seems particularly important to remain vigilant, compassionate, and active in today’s world.

The purpose of this site is to provide dresources and support to all people around the world should they experience indjustice. With support, resources and by working together we can all make this world a better place.

Remember – it is everyone’s responsibility to protect human rights and freedoms. And, more importantly, EVERYONE can make a difference.
